Even as we celebrate the warm weather this weekend, remember that we (stubborn as it may seem) will persist in asking that children come dressed with rain pants and boots through May Day (and then as weather requires after that). The glorious 65 degree weather does not arrive at 8:30am, and children in the woods find damp and muddy places.
If it warms quickly, I will allow children to take off rain pants after our walk. Please, however, dress your child in rain pants to start the morning. Do check at home or school to see that your weather gear is appropriate for the warmer, spring weather. Snow bibs could be more than a bit uncomfortable.
Expect more soon about our fairy tale, "The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids," and our parent meeting next Sunday afternoon.
With warmth and light and preparedness for dampness,
William Geoffrey Dolde
